Originally from Levittown NY, I currently reside somewhere along the coast in California with my wife/co-author Helen.
A lot of my creativity was born from my lifelong love of science fiction and horror. As a child I grew up on the original Dark Shadows, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Doctor Who (which I still follow) and Anime.
A few of my favorite authors are HP Lovecraft, Jane Austen, Robert Asprin, Jodi Lynn Nye, Stephen King, Richard Matheson, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, and so many more.
However, I do not spend all our time sitting behind a desk writing. I like to get out and try new things. We also like to explore new places, sometimes with family or friends. I've gotten plenty of ideas thanks to these adventures. I like to draw from personal experience because I feel it lends a bit of authenticity to a story and its characters. Which is probably why Helen and I still love to attend conventions which involve sci-fi, fantasy, anime, comics, you name it. Yes, we are Geeks and proud of it.
Greetings all. Â For some time I’ve been thinking about Vlogging (Video Blogging for those who’ve never heard the term before). Â If you haven’t heard it before don’t feel bad, I only learned of it a couple of months ago. Â Yes, I’m a little behind the curve some days. Â I’m just grateful they leave breadcrumbs so…

Here is the first newspaper review of one of my novels. Â I tried getting my first novel “The Bridge” reviewed, but never seemed to have much luck. Â I think the fact that “The Ship” was set in Santa Cruz and featured a local landmark The S. S. Palo Alto, aka “The Concrete Boat”, really helped….

Well, I finally had the Ablations done on my Sacroiliac joint. It’s been 3 days since the procedure actually took place, and I still have a fair amount of pain to contend with. I’m not too worried at this point. since I was told that it could take up to 10 days to really feel…
Go GOOGLE yourself! And I mean it folks. Â Now I’m not trying to be rude or obnoxious folks. Â I’m actually being quite serious about this. Â Sometimes putting your name in Google and checking out what pops up can be a real eye-opener. The other day when I was sitting in the library with my wife…

That sounds good, Allan. You seem to be quite trained to do that, in the meantime!
I’ve done a lot of reading aloud to Helen and our cats. Plus I’ve had a number of people at work tell me I have a good voice and that I should try creating audiobooks. So I finally took the plunge a year ago.
If you think that was impressive, just keep checking Helens’ website. We’ve shared the first 5 chapters there already, and I’ll be cutting everyone off in a week or so (so if they want to hear the rest they’ll have to get the audiobook. After that I’ll start sharing the beginning chapters of her 2nd book with Rafael and company.
But what I’m really looking forward to is December when I share my audio narration of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” on YouTube. I read the entire unabridged tale, and supply unique voices for every character along with some sound effects. I also scoured the internet for Public Domain Imagery that has been created for various published editions over the years to give the viewers visuals along with my narration. So stay tuned…
Thanks so very much for sharing this, Allan. I’ll stay tuned!
Much appreciated.
