Sharing the Prologue and 1st chapter of “Forever’s Too Long”, my first #voiceover performance on Audible…
Originally from Levittown NY, I currently reside somewhere along the coast in California with my wife/co-author Helen.
A lot of my creativity was born from my lifelong love of science fiction and horror. As a child I grew up on the original Dark Shadows, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Doctor Who (which I still follow) and Anime.
A few of my favorite authors are HP Lovecraft, Jane Austen, Robert Asprin, Jodi Lynn Nye, Stephen King, Richard Matheson, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, and so many more.
However, I do not spend all our time sitting behind a desk writing. I like to get out and try new things. We also like to explore new places, sometimes with family or friends. I've gotten plenty of ideas thanks to these adventures. I like to draw from personal experience because I feel it lends a bit of authenticity to a story and its characters. Which is probably why Helen and I still love to attend conventions which involve sci-fi, fantasy, anime, comics, you name it. Yes, we are Geeks and proud of it.
At this time of the year, and for many throughout the year, it can be difficult for some dealing with depression, loss, or just trying to adjust to a new stage in one’s life. A friend of mine shared this post, and I really thought I should help spread the word to anyone needing some…
It’s been several years since I released any books myself, as I’ve been mostly focused on voiceover work and recording the first 4 books of Helen’s “Forever Detective” series (I’m currently recording the voiceover for her most recent novel “Forever Chosen” and her anthology “W. I. T. C. H. Hunters Forever”). However, this does not…
Okay, continuing with my adventures in recording audios, I left off last time with the image above. Now what you are seeing are the Blue Yeti Microphone, which had a huge amount of reviews over on Amazon. It’s a very versatile microphone in the respects that it can give you several options for picking up…
Okay, we covered a lot of technical details in the last entry, but there’s still one more thing I want to talk about today, before going on to other details to consider when doing an audio recording. Regretfully, I’m one of those people with asthma so on occasion you can actually hear me taking a…
Helen just got interviewed over on by author Aurora Jean Alexander’s blog “Writer’s Treasure Chest”. Come check it out…
Yesterday I had an epiphany about my writing and the entire Para-Earth Series… it’s been a collaboration all along. From “The Bridge” to “The Ship” to “The Vampyre Blogs -Coming Home”, the entire journey has been one gigantic collaboration with my wife/best friend Helen. And I am planning on putting her name on the first…

That sounds good, Allan. You seem to be quite trained to do that, in the meantime!
I’ve done a lot of reading aloud to Helen and our cats. Plus I’ve had a number of people at work tell me I have a good voice and that I should try creating audiobooks. So I finally took the plunge a year ago.
If you think that was impressive, just keep checking Helens’ website. We’ve shared the first 5 chapters there already, and I’ll be cutting everyone off in a week or so (so if they want to hear the rest they’ll have to get the audiobook. After that I’ll start sharing the beginning chapters of her 2nd book with Rafael and company.
But what I’m really looking forward to is December when I share my audio narration of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” on YouTube. I read the entire unabridged tale, and supply unique voices for every character along with some sound effects. I also scoured the internet for Public Domain Imagery that has been created for various published editions over the years to give the viewers visuals along with my narration. So stay tuned…
Thanks so very much for sharing this, Allan. I’ll stay tuned!
Much appreciated.
