Just a quick new post on my vlog. Basically a quick update of what’s been going on and where I’m headed…
Originally from Levittown NY, I currently reside somewhere along the coast in California with my wife/co-author Helen.
A lot of my creativity was born from my lifelong love of science fiction and horror. As a child I grew up on the original Dark Shadows, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Doctor Who (which I still follow) and Anime.
A few of my favorite authors are HP Lovecraft, Jane Austen, Robert Asprin, Jodi Lynn Nye, Stephen King, Richard Matheson, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allan Poe, and so many more.
However, I do not spend all our time sitting behind a desk writing. I like to get out and try new things. We also like to explore new places, sometimes with family or friends. I've gotten plenty of ideas thanks to these adventures. I like to draw from personal experience because I feel it lends a bit of authenticity to a story and its characters. Which is probably why Helen and I still love to attend conventions which involve sci-fi, fantasy, anime, comics, you name it. Yes, we are Geeks and proud of it.
… because you might just get it. So, after all my talk and posting about finding a crystal ball… well…um… Ah, the photo pretty much tells you what happened. Now to be honest, I’ve had this crystal ball for years. Helen got it for me long before we got married, and we exchanged our vows…
Thought I’d share this little piece of inspiration for all my fellow indie authors today. These really insightful thoughts come from author Kate Brauning, a woman who really knows about publishing and has been a part of it for a long time…
I had planned on releasing a special short story on Christmas Day for all my readers. The original idea had been to release it on Smashwords for free, in order for everyone to take advantage of their new Nooks, Kindles, I-Pads, etc. However due to all a heavy last minute cram everything into the last…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my fellow author and good friend A J Alexander, who currently has 6 books in her “Council of Twelve Series”. This is an ongoing fantasy, romance, series of books which not only involve Heaven and Earth, but many other mythical beings which are extremely well-woven into the tapestry of this series. Go…
REVIEW BY ALLAN KRUMMENACKER 4 – STARS “An Eerie Blend To Satisfy Horror Enthusiasts…” Mix one part voodoo, one part devil worship, three parts darker side of human nature and you get “The Haunting of Gospall”. The author does a wondrous job of blending these three elements into a intricate yarn that transcends the high…

Hi again. You mention ereaders and pdf but I didn’t hear Createspace on amazon for a paperback version. If I missed that I apologize. I like the priogress on the cover but I’m not sure I would make the figure any clearer or we’ll know too much right off the bat. Just a thought. 🙂
Also, are you familiar with Indies Unlimited? If not, check them out. In my opinion that group is the best source for info about self-publishing and the Indie experience I have come across. They are Preditors and Editors recommended list and don’t sell, anything – just provide info and support.
Have a great holiday. Stay healthy.
Yvonne
I will definitely check out Indies Unlimited, thanks for that tip. And yes I WILL be using Createspace so I can have paperback versions available.
You’re welcome. See you there. 🙂
I think the new book cover is going to be fantastic. I suggest bolding the title some, but not too much… Really enjoy your vlogs. I’m a new writer and really appreciate your sharing the process. I’m working on my first short story, which I’ll turn into my first novel. I use CreateSpace and will want to publish as eBooks as well. Again, thanks for sharing and to Yvonne for suggesting Indies Unlimited.
I’m glad to know the vlogs are being helpful. I should have the final edits for my novel by Christmas. I’ll spend the rest of the week finishing the cover and making the edit changes. From there, it’s Createspace time and formatting.
