Greetings one and all. Sorry for the silence, but as you can guess I’ve been really busy on audio and writing projects. Sadly, one of those projects will not come to light until this time next year. This would be the one I last posted about, namely “A Christmas Carol”. Between trying to get the audiobook version of “Forever Haunted” completed, as well as a lengthy short story (I know that sounds weird, a short story being lengthy) over on our other blog “The Vampyre Blogs – Private Edition”, as well as trying to deal with work and prepping for the holidays, time has not been very available for me.
So I’m planning on releasing my reading/performance of Mr. Dicken’s classic for December 2021. It will be complete with voices and sound effects, along with royalty-free and public domain imagery from the internet. At the moment it seems to be coming in at a length of 5+ hours which is why I will be releasing it in staves (chapters) as Mr. Dickens wrote it. In addition, I may produce a complete audio of the performance to be made available on CD or as an MP3 download. But that’s all next year.
For now, I’m dealing with new shutdowns here in Santa Cruz, California (due to Covid – 19) which has hampered a number of other efforts Helen and I had planned. As well as other work related issues which have left us both rather tired at times.
Helen also had to scale back on releasing her 4th novel in her “Forever Detective Series”, to next year as well, since it too is Christmas related. However, she did complete a short story that will be posted soon over on her blog theforeverdetective.com. We intend to also create an audio for that story which will also be published shortly for your enjoyment.
I’ll be sharing some new audio recording experiences here on this blog, starting in January. I’ll be focusing on editing and more recording techniques, so you know what to keep an eye out for.
I’ll post here again as soon as I have something to say, or just to wish you all Happy Holidays.
In the meantime, if you want a ghost story set around Christmas here is a link to the one I’ve created over on “The Vampyre Blogs – Private Edition”. To date there are two installments with more to come. I’ll leave the links for those right here and hopefully you’ll get a chance to check it out. Enjoy… and until next time, keep writing my friends.

This is so awesome, Alan! I’m so glad to see how your art has evolved and to see that you’re sharing your unique voice to your own work! Feel free to reach out if you ever need a female author for anything!
I’ve been thinking of you and Helen and I actually recently participated in a book exchange where you purchase a book for a stranger and when their friends join they purchase books for you, and so on. The only book I could think of sending was, “The Bridge”. Even though I couldn’t compel others the join, I felt really excited that I knew a reader would get to experience how exciting the paranormal series is. Thank you for sharing a copy with me all of those years ago.
I hope you both are doing well during this chaotic 2020 (holiday) season! I wish you both continued health and happiness in the coming year.

Don’t feel bad, I’ve made that same mistake many times… and it’s my own work! LOL!

Hello Amanda! Sorry it’s taken so long to reply, but my work at the County of Santa Cruz, coupled with the Pandemic, has wreaked havoc over here. I can’t tell you how good it is to hear from you. I’ve wondered about how you’ve been doing quite a lot. I hope you’re still pursuing theater and music, you have a fantastic voice. And it take it you’re doing some writing as well these days… AWESOME! I’ll keep you in mind. Helen’s fantastic, but I occasionally like other points of view as well! The Para-Earths Series is still going, I finally got 2 books out on our ‘vampire’ character Nathan Steward. He’s been a huge help in expanding the concept of the Para-Earths to readers having actually visited one back in 1861 (which also led to his vampiric/long lived condition). If you ever want to check him out, let me know. I’d be happy to send you a copy, he’s a lot of fun.
Please do stay in touch and let me know what’s happening with you, especially on the performing and writing fronts!
Stay safe and well! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!

Hi Alan!! Ooof, another error with my proof reading: I meant to offer any voice acting services, not writing services; you and Helen are a perfect team and my skills are much better focused on singing and theatre, LOL. I have actually been working mostly in the non-profit sector for homeless services agencies. I recently relocated to Michigan and I have to applaud you for the work you are doing in California.
I do hope you and your family are staying safe and well. I have thought of you and Helen often as well and I always think about picking up the The Vampyre Blogs, but I am also a reader who reads a million things at once… doesn’t read them for months… picks up a new book and then binges it… But all that being said: ⤠VAMPIRE ⤠1861???? <33 OMG… THIS SOUNDS LIKE MY KIND OF SERIES! š I would adore and be honored by a copy!!
Hopefully you can forgive my comment faux pas. I am so very glad to hear from you!
I wish you and Helen and your family the safest and most joyful of holiday seasons! May 2021 bring better things than 2020.
Wishing you the warmest of greetings!

With your permission, I’d like to send you my e-mail address via Twitter or Instagram (since I don’t like to post it publicly here), so I can get your mailing address/e-mail address to send the book and it’s anthology companion to you. Once you’ve read “The Vampyre Blogs – Coming Home” I would like to see if you’d be interested in doing a voice for one/or more characters. This would be easy because like the original novel “Dracula” we wrote the book as blog/e-journal entries by different characters which tells the story. And I’ve been dying to get that story turned into an audiobook by having female performers supply the voices for those chapters. I’ve just about got Helen on board (she hates her voice but is warming up to the idea since she’s seen how I can tweak it on the Audacity recording software I use) and two of the MAJOR characters/bloggers of the story are young women. They along with Nathan (the vampyre) tell most of the tale. So let me know what you feel comfortable with as far as being in touch and how to ge the book to you, and we’ll go from there. Hope you’re enjoying the holidays. Stay safe.
