Description
According to Egyptian legend, the god Osiris was murdered by his brother Set and chopped up into pieces that were hidden about land. However, Osiris’ devoted wife, Isis, set about to recover all the pieces and bound them back together in what some consider the first mummification. Once all the pieces were in place, Isis used her powers to bring her husband back to the living in all his power and glory.
Here, the artist has employed vine charcoal and some white pastel to recreate this moment on paper.
