Capturing the joy of splashing in the rain, this uses a wet-on-wet technique to create a watercolor-like abstract background, followed by traditional brushwork to create the foreground figure.

The bright yellow of the rain gear contrasts but adds to the brightness. The figure splashing in the puddle is deliberately androgynous and richly pigmented, the earthy shades of the figure adding another element to the water/sun hues used for the rest of the design.
