For he soon finds himself facing the supernatural in the form of a cult run by vampires, whose leader is a surprising and historical figure who was described by his assassins as almost impossible to kill.

Sensing there’s something more to our hero, the leader decides to make Rafael his new ‘brother’ in blood, hoping to make him part of the plan to retake Russia as a new Tsar.

However, Rafael has other plans. Although tainted by leader’s vampiric blood, he holds on to hope and humanity (especially his own).

Life isn’t easy for Rafael Jones, but it’s easier than adjusting to being dead.

Rafael is still learning about his new diet, powers, and limitations when he’s asked to certify that a house isn’t haunted. Only it is. The ghost of a murdered flapper must relive her brutal death every night in the room where she died unless someone can bring her killer to justice.  Now Rafael just needs to track down the gangster who killed her. Unfortunately, the killer ‘disappeared’ some years ago through mystical means. Now, in order to protect his client, and stop a new string of murders, Rafael must dive into the dark days of Prohibition and question some of the gangsters who are still around.  A dicey proposition for any private investigator, but not for someone who’s already dead. Or is it?
